Anchors Away, S/S 2012

see my online portfolio here

With summer time just around the corner, it's hard not to find myself daydreaming of warmer climates and sand filled beaches.  With the weather in London not cooperating at all, daydreaming may be the only thing to hold on to this summer! And so in the midst of all my daydreaming, I envisioned Anchors Away. When designing this collection, I imagined little girls playing by the sea side, toes dug deep in the sand. I wanted to create a collection that had a mix of vintage inspired silhouettes combined with modern ones, focusing on comfort as well as style. The color palette was inspired by the vintage suitcases on my mood board. Something about them just seemed perfect, soothing, and just trendy enough for my girls. I decided to focus on prints instead of graphics this time, feeling that it allows for the collection to look timeless. The prints are all paired with cream and I kept the number of colors to a minimum. Details like gathers, bows, and defined collars can be be expected. Don't you just feel like escaping the rain and taking a day trip to the sea side with a little one now? Anchors Away girls, it's time for fun!
