Behind The Scenes

Hi everyone! I know it's been a while... and no I haven't forgot about you lovelies... November has just been a little crazy and in the blink of an eye it's pretty much come to an end! Anyone else feel like the end of this year is just flying by? Nope... just me? Well this has been an eventful month to say the least with a lot of different things in the works... can't wait to properly be able to share but for now I thought I'd at least show you all some behind the scenes pictures of some designs I'm working on. I'm venturing into the older boys range and you know what? I am really enjoying it!

It's that time of the year again... when the leaves turn bright orange... the air gets a refreshing chill to it... and mustaches seam to sprout over night! November, also popularly known as Movember has high kicked the whole mustache trend to a whole new level. Not that I'm complaining, I love me a good mustache and think it's so cute that it has trickled down for the wee one's to partake too. Here is a little round up of some mustachey things I found around the web... and yes if I had a little one, I would quickly snatch up all of these!

Working With: Junior Style

Junior Style has done it again! Bringing all of the best brands under one roof for easy shopping, only this time conveniently at a coffee shop to truly take care of all your mommy needs. That Place On The Corner and Junior Style teamed up last Friday to provide the ultimate shopping experience for parents and kiddos. For those of you that don't know yet, this is no ordinary coffee shop... oh no! They offer a wide range of classes and play groups for tots of all ages, yummy treats catering specifically to little ones, tea parties and birthday bash set ups galore, and most importantly... a cozy place for you (the parent) to kick up your heels, sip on some amazing coffee, and catch up with friends! Sounds to good to be true right? Well I witnessed it all while working the social media side of things last week and it was a site to see! With Romiane and I hand picking select brands to create that exclusive boutique feel and the friendly environment already created by all of the staff, children, and parents, it was just perfect! Like always, here are a few snippets of some of my favorites... and a few little kiddies sprinkled in the mix for fun! I just can't help myself when I'm around kids these days... especially bright eyed smiley ones!

Halloween Trail Mix

Halloween has come and gone... but the evidence (hopefully a ton of candy and snacks!) is here to linger for a while. Want to know my trick for getting the most out of your treats without over doing it? Make your very own customized trail mix! Have your little one chose their absolute favorite candies... small hard ones work best. This helps them be involved while also making them focus on just a few treats as apposed to the whole bunch. Choosing a good size container (a glass one helps them see how much they have left) also limits the amount of candy intake. Agree to stash away the rest of the candy for birthday parties and/or special occasions. Not only is this a fun activity for them to help out in, it also makes sure they enjoy their favorite treats without eating the entire loot!

  • a glass container that seals well
  • a handful of candy-corn assorted candies
  • a handful of pretzel m&ms
  • a handful of goldfish crackers
  • Chose a random assortment of your favorite candies (mine happen to be American treats sent over in a care package by S!)
  • Start adding your sweets into the jar, mixing it up as you go along to create a layered effect.
  • Once the jar is nearly full (leave some breathing room), close the lid, and shake lightly to mix all the candies around even more.
  • It's that easy... Enjoy!

Sunday Coffee Links 11.4.12

Here's another fun Halloween appropriate piece that can easily (and cutely) be worn way past the holiday. This funky cape, with it's little ears on the hood kind of remind me of a bat! I can just picture a little one twirling around with wings (arms) spread apart... ah to be young and innocent again. Combing a few of my favorite things like neon pink, stripes, and stars... this one is a winner!

A little eye candy and loads of inspiration to start the weekend off right. Happy Weekend!

J.Crew Kids, A/W 2012

Have you guys checked out J.Crew's A/W 2012 collection? Who said the chillier months have to be all dark and dreary? Well certainly not with this gear! The collection is filled with bold brights in a mixture of primary and jewel tones that I am loving. In true J.Crew fashion, layering plays an important role along with pattern mixing... all in bright colors of course.  I love how even though the styling has taken cues from men's and women's fashion, it still feels fresh and youthful. These are just a few of my favorite looks but honestly, it was so hard to chose!

Diving In

Anyone else feel like October just flew by in the blink of an eye? I know I do! And it's hard not to get excited (and slightly overwhelmed!) by all the holiday stuff already on display... before Thanksgiving (for my fellow Americans) even. So take a deep breath... and let's dive into November together shall we?
