Bubble London Sneak Peek!


Here's a little sneak peek into what my day was like helping out the Bubble London crew with getting everything ready for tomorrow. I have some pretty big news guys... hubs and I are moving to Los Angeles! It's all been in the works since December but I didn't want to make any grand announcements until things were a bit more finalized. You can read more about the process and how things kind of just happened on my personal blog, Made With Love, if you like. Things are a little bit crazy over here as we try to wrap up our lives in London, but I thought a nice little California inspired roundup would be just the thing to motivate me! While I am sad to be leaving dear old London and all of the great contacts/designers I have met (keep in touch!), I am pretty excited to discover new brands and immerse myself within the kids industry over there... not to mention the endless sunshine!


Marmalade & Mash, A/W 2013


Marmalade & Mash is the brand that comes to mind when I think quintessential British kid's style... only modernized to fit today's little one's trendy needs. Going on their third collection (A/W 2013) and showing at the end of the month at Bubble London, I am delighted to be able to share with you all a little sneak peak as to what's in store! You can expect that slight tinge of nostalgia as traditional silhouettes are brought to life with bright and saturated tones. This season's signature print is an over sized gingham seen in both the girls and boys designs that truly captures that timeless feel. Chambray makes a new appearance alongside velvet... keeping the perfect balance between style and wearability. Life Lately


Life lately has been composed of... spending loads of time with the adorable british nieces... getting over another pesky cold with the essentials... re-lighting that spark of inspiration to get into the swing of things for a new year... and busily getting ready to spread the news about this here little blog! What have you been up to?

How perfect are these little jersey pants for your little one! In such a cheerful green with contrasting brown knee patches and ties, they are sure to become a fast favorite. Not only do they look super cool... and ridiculously comfy... but the best part is how gender neutral they are, insuring hand me downs with no complaints. Now I kind of wish they made them in my size (hint, hint!).

Indikidual, S/S 2013


With a solid customer winning debut collection under their belt, Indikidual is back for round two! Continuing on with their love for mix and match, layering, and encouraging kids to just be kids, they have nailed it again. Their S/S 2013 collection features their signature banana print alongside geometric prints, soft chambray, and Russian architectural graphics. A theme of travel and whimsy is carried throughout the pieces... which I just love! This time around you can expect to see slightly softer but just as bright primary colors paired with more neutral tones. And of course their enfaces on gender friendly attire is just another reason to love the brand.

Who's going to Bubble London at the end of the month? I can barely contain my excitement! It's going to be so much fun to see some of my favorite brands and of course, find some new and upcoming ones too! Hucklebones, A/W 2012


It may be cold and dreary still, but why not take this as a chance to get some last few wears out of your little one's winter favorites before Spring time rolls around? With a collection as gorgeous as Hucklebone's A/W 2012, it'll be an easy task to accomplish! Deep, rich reds and navy are paired with a range of more neutral hues, ranging from mauve to blush pinks. Hints of gold metallic are lightly sprinkled throughout to ensure that glamorous feel. Signature bows and over-sized peter pan collars are still around this season, but refreshed in winter heavy fabrics. And of course with a coat like any of these (my favorite is that classic red beauty!), it'll be hard to put away at the end of the season!

Molly-Meg Wish List

With a new year comes a fresh start and I don't know about you guys, but I tend crave a massive clear out... which of course then leads to me rearranging and redecorating! While having a glimpse through Molly-Meg, I decided it would be fun to create a wish list of all of my favorite products. You know, my dream little one's room. They truly have such a great selection ranging from the most unique kid's toys, decor, party accessories, furniture and more. Don't get excited now... this doesn't mean there's a little Beale on the way... just that when I'm constantly surrounded my the creme de le creme in all aspects regarding kids, it's hard not to share!


Recipe: Xmas American Pancakes


One of my lovely British nieces L (the older one), was born on the first of January. Sadly, this means that we are never around to celebrate due to New Years Eve bashes. This year I made sure we celebrated her special day before we left... and what better way than with Xmas tree American Pancakes!!! Always wanting to share some of my favorite Americanisms with the girls and the family, I thought this would be perfect. It also helped beat some of the post Xmas blues... candy cane stirrers for your hot chocolate bar are another great treat too! I explained to L that these were no ordinary pancakes... but snowy, berry filled, tree shaped ones just for her! She loved the idea and the fact that she was able to be involved with the pancake cutting... and of course eating! I even let her pour her own maple syrup and powdered sugar like big girl would... in hindsight, not the best idea... but hey, you only turn four once right? Oh and as for the little one, R... well she started of shy and quite... but you can see from the last photo that the sugars got to her too!

BBC Recipe, (which I adjusted) makes 6 large pancakes

to make
  • 4 3/4 oz. plain flour
  • 4 1/2 fl. oz. milk
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter (cooled slightly)
  • 2 tbsp. caster sugar
  • 1 tsp . baking powder
  • 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pack of fresh blueberries
to serve
  • Xmas tree cookie cutters
  • maple syrup (to serve with)
  • powdered sugar (to serve with)
  • Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and caster sugar in a large bowl.
  • In a seperate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg, then whicsk in the melted butter. Be careful not over whisk!
  • Pour the milky mixture into the flour mixture and beat until batter is smooth using a fork. Make sure all lumps are gone and then let stand for a few minutes.
  • Right before making pancakes, dump the blueberries into the mixture and gently stir, making sure not to burst them.
  • Pour a ladle of pancake mixture into the center of a buttered and heated pan. Batter will spread out to form a 5"-6" pancake.
  • Once the top of the pancake begins to bubble, carefully turn over and cook until both sides are golden brown.
  • Using the Xmas tree cookie cutter, cut out a tree per pancake. The British nieces loved doing this step and yes of course, the scraps can be eaten!
  • Pour your desired amount of maple syrup and top with sprinkled sugar for a snowy effect. The girls liked doing this step too but be warned, it did lead to an excess amount of syrup and sugar piled onto their pancakes... hello sugar rush!

Holidays With The British Nieces


Sorry for the lack of posting... December was pretty hectic and quickly followed by some much needed family holiday time. It was all pretty awesome and you can read more about my Very British Xmas and my first ever Boxing Day over on my personal blog if you like. Best part about the whole thing... I got hang out with my two beautiful British nieces! I'm always amazed at how much they change and how quickly they grow between visits. Each have such distinct personalities and couldn't more different as far as sisters are concerned. L is loud and confident... she will march into a room full of adults and talk to just about anyone, it's incredible! R communicates more through her eyes and expression... she is shyer and it takes her a little bit to warm up to you but when she smiles, man my heart just melts. Hope you all had a some fun filled holidays with your loved ones and little ones!
